Compute infrastructure
Communications
- Microwave controllers
- router on boat
- switches for distribution
- wiring (state rooms and control room, mess deck, bridge, aft steering, all spaces)
- shore tie wiring
- phone system
- backup power ups
- secondary network?
- plnavproc
- lobos (hpux that may go away?)
- ntp
- domain controllers
- vars related (check with Brian) varspl
- video switcher (pilot thing) - new one, existing is bad
- discovery - rov control linux box
- wireless network
- CTD machines pluctd, plpctd
- SQL server box (glacierwind)
- steve rock machine (hawkeye)
- digital beta and hd decks (video lab task)
- plmnav (winfrog) and interconnections.
- sonardyne usbl (transponders)
- ahars
- sperry fog gyro (Steve wants to move)
- sperry mark 37 gyro speaks through the lehmkuhl
- lehmkuhl gyro repeater
- granrojo science workstation
- infranalis (pilot workstation)
- mesotek (yodel machine)
- lap box
- audio interface hardware
- hd sdi distribution amp (3 or 4)
- loss of video detector
- sony hd-sdi converter for monitors
- miranda overlay generator
- geffen video scaler
- miranda video tiler
- after steering and bridge workstations (winfrog displays)
- dynair remotes (video switcher)
- kvms?
- 6 rs232 das - splitters (gps data, usbl, etc.?)
- Tether Management System - where is this running? - are we thinking of a new one?
- telex system (master station live in bridge)
- Taiyo tdl 1650? - VHF RDF
- Furuno GPS compass
- air handling (conditioning and filtering).
- new racks on this boat (leave racks on lobos).
- a bunch of antennas.
- Leica dGPS (what GPS will be there?)
- ice cream freezer
- zephyr has 'auvrack' machine
- printers
- LED clock
- Can we get LED display (like in flyer)? Same lat, lon, depth, time. Plus an antennae.
- tyto-alba (no idea what it does) - DJ might know about this one.
- CTD deck box (sbe deck box). cable that runs from winch to wherever the CTD is located.
- DB9 breakouts, interface panels, 485 converters
- SeaTel requires analog gyro (1x synchro). lehmkuhl requires it also.
Outstanding Questions
What is one the boat now? (wiring) existing infrastructure.
- do we want secondary network for control room?
- put navproc/lobos on one computer with hot swap?
- do they want cell phone connectivity (tellular? boxes). Cell connectivity for network (data plan 3G)?
- do we want network connectivity when out of microwave (satellite)?
- what can we cross deck and what do we buy new?
What is the actual schedule for moving (can we bring down lobos and have full access to it)?
who is doing what for ROV/infrastructure?
where is the control room going to be located? (if below water line, coast guard approval).
how do we get data down to control room from bridge (fiber muxs, copper?) Pete things copper. Need good cable ways.
- how much of the bridge electronics and aft steering move over? We will need splitters, etc.
- Where does the main networking rack go?
can we get dedicated space for computers an infrastructure? (closet space would be really nice to have)
- are you going to keep existing inmar sat system (on fox currently)? otherwise no space for SeaTel dome.
- will there be permanent van for science (infrastructure will need to be plumbed to swap out vans)
anything on the Zephyr that needs to move? If different, will they migrate? What does the AUV need?
- Make sure there is a physical distinction between ROV and AUV. (subnets?)
Does the sperry fog work for science (we are pushing from old sperry for science)?
- Are we going to use Fox's gyro? We will need to interface to it.
- Power and backup power
